SILK Sutures
The Endure Non-Absorbable SILK Suture is a sterile Braided silk suture composed of an organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the domesticated species Bombyx mori (B.mori) of the family Bombycidae.
WeSuture is the brand name of surgical sutures by Endure Industries. Our Silk Sutures meet the requirements of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) monograph requirements for non-absorbable surgical sutures.

INDICATIONS
The Black Braided SILK Suture with Needle is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures. The use of this Non-Absorbable SILK Suture is contraindicated in patients with known sensitivities or allergies to Silk. Due to the gradual loss of tensile strength which may occur over prolonged periods in vivo, Non Absorbable Silk suture should not be used where permanent retention of tensile strength is required.
PERFORMANCE
Non-Absorbable SILK suture elicits an initial inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissues. While Silk suture is not absorbed, progressive degradation of the proteinaceous Silk fiber in vivo may result in gradual loss of all the suture's tensile strength over time.
STERILITY
- SILK sutures are sterilized by Ethylene Oxide
- Do not re-sterilize!
- Do not use if package is opened or damaged!
- Discard opened, unused sutures!
